Weekend of the 25th

Dear Friends,

Please read the blog entry before this one as well. There are some good extensions if interested.

You have chosen one form of media to include in your political campaign for class Prime Minister or Grade 4 sales pitch for best Canadian travel destination. Here's the chart from the classroom:

FEATURES OF MEDIA FORMS
FLYERS for Political Campaign can have - photo of candidate, information (i.e. history, character trait, qualifications, goals), heading/slogan (i.e. Vote for..., Think Green!)
BROCHURES can have - a variety of information, pictures/photographs/maps, headings, folded to have sections
COMMERCIALS can have - catchy saying/jingle/slogan, actors, dialogue (i.e. script), actions (i.e. expression, movement), setting/background, props

I look forward to seeing your media either on Monday, Tuesday OR Wednesday. Speeches are on Thursday. (There will be no more extensions!)

Your reading letter is due on Monday.

    Leonardo Da Vinci was a realist Artist. A realist Artist (painter) is a person who paints things that are exactly how they appear in life.

    The Great Pyramid of Gyza was built in the year 2560bc (before Christ). We live in the year 2011ad (after death). to find out how long ago the Pyramid was built I added 2560 to 2011. The Great Pyramid of Gyza was built 4571 years ago. (2560 to 0 then 0 to 2011 = 4571)

    900,000 + 90,000 + 8,000 + 700 + 60 + 4 =998,764

    Which section of the news do you find most interesting? Is it also the most important?
    The section that is the most interesting to me is “Science”. The reason I chose this section is because I love reading about different kinds of animals. I also love creating things to make it easy for people to do things.
    The most important section is “News” because it tells me what is happening right now where I live and around the world.

    Why do people dance?
    1. Traditional (belonging to a community so they have to learn a specific dance)
    2. Exercise (stay in shape)
    3. Celebration (achieving something)
    4. Fun (by yourself or with others at a party)
    5. Expression (can tell a story through dance like ballet)
